Ducks on a pond

So I used to have these four identical ducks. I've always encouraged them to do their own things, but even so, three of them have remained remarkably similar: impossible to tell apart. One of them, however, took up cycling. Did really well. Turned pro. And then he changed. A couple years ago, you couldn't tell these four apart, but I guess that's what cycling will do for someone. It's obvious to me which one it is, but can you tell?

Yep, it's the one with the "Who me? Performance enhancing drugs?" look on his face. Oh yeah, he's got a bike helmet on, too.

Dinner With Kathy

Had dinner at Kathy's tonight. Wish I had pics of the food to upload, but no...

This one will have to do:

Sure, there's no salmon in this picture, or lettuce... or olives, or... well anything that we actually ate, but other than that, it's exactly like what we had for dinner.

Mmmm.

Actually, it's a picture from Rome that Kathy took in 2004. (October)

A Blog Post For Marc

Here's my buddy Marc:

Here's my buddy Marc after playing pool with me last night:

Ha! Sorry Marc.

I can only do this because Marc is SOO much better at pool than I am. When we play pool, either he wins, or I don't lose. One or the other. I think that I have legitimately won maybe 5 games in the entire ... 21 years(!) that we've known each other. I generally play from badly to just-above-mediocre, and Marc plays from just-above-mediocre to really damn good. When the planets align, and I'm at the top of my game, and he's at the bottom of his, we have some close games. Though last night, I only won one game because he scratched on the 8-ball, the other games I won because he didn't make shots that he normally does. Or should, anyway.

Plus he's really lucky.

Oh, okay, Marc, stop whining, I'll tell everyone that you ran the table for one of your wins last night.

Marc's so good that he ran the table for one of his wins last night.

(But I'm the one that broke for him)

Did I menttion that he's really lucky?

Back from SoCal

Wednesday, August 9 Mom's birthday (officially)

Drove to So Cal to go to a wedding reception and CD release party on Saturday, and surprise Mom for her birthday on Sunday. Well... made it to the restaurant in time Sunday morning to surprise Mom.

I love my car. No, wait; I hate my car. No wait....

A definite love-hate thing going on anyway. Without going too much into detail, I got some air into my fuel line, and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. In an effort to try to straighten out the pre-filter (in case its connections were the problem), I put duct tape to good use:

(And I don't wanna hear from nobody that those knots is grannies, and not true reef knots. K?)

Spent too much time waiting for a tow truck on the side of the road to make it to either of Saturday's happenings. But the car now works fine as long as I don't... um... want to drive it anywhere I guess.

Had fun at Mom's on Sunday. Happy Birthday Mom!

And got wrangled into the pool by Mister Athens as it was getting a bit dark. I had my underwater housing, so we took a few pics in there...

(No, Athens doesn't like his picture taken, why??)

Here's one out of the water. Well, we're still IN the water, we're just not under it...

Enough for now...

Bumper Sticker

Wednesday, August 2nd.

Just a very short one today... I'm back to work this week. Moving slowly, but my back is worlds better than it was a week ago. Woowee.

Driving home I saw this bumper sticker:

"If we outlaw guns, then only outlaws will accidentally shoot their children."

Ha!

Hope all are well (despite the stupid Angels).
