Day at the Office

Well okay, more like a day not at the office.

Oh my god, two updates in two days....

This was a three dive day out on the moorings Tuesday (17 Nov). Usually I've got the camera so there aren't any pictures of me, but Erich was taking pictures on the first dive, so there are actually pictures of me under water.

Here's me working at the 10m cage on M2.
30 miles offshore in 2000m of water (don't drop your tools!).

Here's looking (up) at me with some Mola mola in the background.

Mola molas. Weird fish. Here's a site that has some great pictures of them, and shows how big they can get: http://www.oceansunfish.org/. The ones that we saw were only a foot or two long at most.

Okay, now I've got the camera at M1 (10 miles offshore).

Here's a couple pictures of some Sea Nettles that were floating by us while we were working.

Sometimes they get super thinck, and we've got to be pretty careful of where we're swimming. They're not deadly or anything, but it can be a bit uncomfortable to get stung by them.

At the end of the third dive (on M0 - five miles offshore), we came to the surface and looked up at the buoy about six feet away from us, and .... saw this:

Cute little fellers, but boy, after they've been hanging on the buoy for a long time, they sure stink one heck of a lot. Oh the stench.

No, I don't see any of the comments if they are from an "Anonymous" poster. And I certainly wouldn't reply to them...
